Full Job Description
Kaman Measuring and Memory (KMM) is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations supporting our Aerospace, Defense, Space, and Industrial customers. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment while ensuring safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and employee engagement objectives are consistently achieved.

The Operations Manager will partner closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Finance to execute production plans, improve manufacturing processes, and build a high-performing, accountable team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations in a high-mix, low-volume precision electronics environment.
  • Oversee production scheduling and execution to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor production performance and develop KPIs to measure operational success.
  • Collaborate with Planning and Supply Chain to identify and eliminate material constraints.
  • Manage labor planning, workforce utilization, and overall manufacturing capacity.
  • Support AS9100 quality requirements and ensure compliance with customer expectations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Develop employees through coaching, accountability, and leadership.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to support business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing operations experience.

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, precision electronics, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Epicor Kinetic ERP.
  • Thorough understanding of production scheduling, manufacturing flow, inventory control, and operational metrics.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements that drive measurable business results.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial metrics, including P&L and balance sheet performance.

Preferred
  • Aerospace & Defense manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SIOP, MRP, and integrated production planning.
  • Knowledge of electronics assembly, testing, and precision manufacturing processes.
