Job Overview

The Operations Manager coordinates and manages the manufacturing activities of several areas, ensuring to reach the manufacturing volume and quality standards within the approved operation budget.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:
  • Supervising the production tasks, collaborating with quality, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Providing advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring employees on operations initiatives and necessary changes.
  • Planning, organizing, and managing the activities necessary to meet production schedules and cost objectives.
  • Selecting and maintaining qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly and supervising the hiring, development, evaluation, and termination, if necessary, of all other personnel responsible for direct reports.
  • Executing plans for additional equipment, improved processes, and facilities when required.
  • Maintaining safety programs to ensure conformance to company, corporate and government requirements.
  • Leading overall strategic planning to include production and productivity improvement activities and growth strategies.
  • Ensuring that manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer standards.
  • Facilitating a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture.
  • Managing requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Preparing the organization for ongoing change.
  • Developing and managing the annual operating budget.
  • Leading managers to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with the company's overall strategy.
  • Monitoring performance against performance goals to ensure progress is being made.
