Position: Operations Manager & HSE (EHS) CoordinationLocation: Carpentersville, Illinois
Job Objective:Responsible for managing HSE, production, plant infrastructure, capital spending, quality, and environmental compliance of the Polynt Composites Americas plants. Oversees the management of all Facilities' activities. Oversees the management of all manufacturing sites' operations and activities. Oversees the development and control of the Facilities' and manufacturing sites' annual expense and capital projects budget. Supervises 9 direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:- Ensure 15 plants are maintained and operate at a competitive cost.
- Ensures production is scheduled to meet customer demand.
- Ensure plants are manufacturing following all quality directives and guidelines.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement in the plants.
- Establish programs to reduce plant usage of electricity, natural gas, and water.
- Develop plans to control safety, prevent losses, and minimize waste.
- Ensure plants are secure and that access to the plants is controlled.
- Measure, report progress, and actions taken to realize company objectives.
- Ensure plants are maintained and operate at a competitive cost.

- Develop and monitor annual capital spending budgets and priorities for all sites.
- Monitor progress of the capital projects.
- Fosters a business culture within the department that is customer focused, fast-paced, results oriented and open to new ideas.
- Evaluates performance and behavior of department through one-on-one performance reviews which include review of employees' contributions to and completion of established individual, departmental and companywide goals and objectives.
- Maintains and encourages productive working relationships with and development of team members by keeping staff adequately informed and delegating responsibilities as necessary.
- Identifies and ensures continual growth of future leadership within the organization.

- Administers consistent coaching and cultivation of team members to build motivation, productivity and performance.
- Develop and monitor annual operating expense budgets.
Implements and manages special purchasing projects, as required, by identifying and clarifying issues within the Company.
- Support safety and quality initiatives.
- Establishes and ensures that the plants operate with a culture of safety.
- Complies with Loss Control policy, rules, permits and directives.
- Complies with all relevant Polynt safety regulations as required at corporate and outlying facilities when traveling.
- Adheres to Company and governmental job safety practices, including wearing protective equipment and monitoring placement of machine guards when necessary.
- Ensure environmental compliance at all Company locations.
Experience and skills:- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- Master's degree in engineering preferred.
- In the absence of an engineering degree, management experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of successful plant or operations management experience.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a multifaceted workforce.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Solid leadership, team building, and management skills.
- Strong project management abilities including prioritization and administration of multiple, simultaneous projects.
