PURPOSEThe Operations Manager is accountable for leading a team of Fleet Managers and Planners to provide the most efficient transportation solutions for our customers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES- Provide oversight of day-to-day operational activities of Team Members.
- Manage Safely, Legally, Ethically, Morally, and Profitably.
- Provide value-added service (internal and external) by ensuring staff responds to all inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Ensure team proactively monitors assigned loads and provides instant communication on service failures, weather delays, dwelling equipment.
- Initiate customer interactions to promote the company.
- Interface with equipment vendors and customer relative to operations job duties.
- Spearhead problem resolution.
- Identify and address inefficient processes/procedures and/or operational deficiencies.
- Use operational experience and measured metrics to pinpoint issues.
- Develop proper solutions for inefficient processes or procedures.
- Review and share operational metrics with General Manager.
- Set work schedule to meet the needs of the customer.
- Administer all training and safety programs for driving staff.
- Manage driver performance; train, counsel, and discipline team members with regards to job responsibilities and performance, safety procedures, and corporate policies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with Operations Personnel, Drivers, and management of all levels.
Leadership and Management - This position supervises others and is responsible for being results-oriented, collaborative, delegate effectively and strive for harmony, ensuring team effectiveness.
- Accountable for hiring and for continued development of direct reports.
- Provides current, direct, complete, and "actionable" positive and corrective feedback to others.
- Reduce workforce turnover by improving employee relations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management of the transportation industry including DOT Rules & Regulations.
- Availability to be reached after hours for operational situations, if relative to position.

Education, Certifications, & License Requirements- High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
