Position Summary:

The MRF Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of all equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role involves strategic planning, managing maintenance teams, implementing preventative maintenance programs, overseeing budgets, and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team, including supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
  • Oversee and implement comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including cost forecasting and capital improvement planning.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and safety teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance efficiency, downtime, and work order completion.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee outsourced maintenance and repair projects.
  • Evaluate and implement maintenance software (CMMS) systems for tracking and reporting.
  • Support site expansion, renovations, or infrastructure upgrade projects as needed.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.


Job Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).


Experience and Competencies:
  • 7-10+ years of progressive maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and control budgets.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
