Job Description

Arconic is currently seeking an Operations Leader to join our Kawneer business in Visalia, CA. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Operations Leader will manage a team of 20+ employees and be accountable for the Material Handling, Shipping/Receiving, and Boxing teams.

Responsibilities
• Actively champion safety by ensuring employees follow safe material handling practices, remain outside vertical drop zones, properly utilize tag lines, and comply with all plant safety procedures.
• Lead and sustain 5S initiatives throughout Material Handling, Shipping/Receiving, and Boxing, maintaining housekeeping standards and target audit scores of 80% or greater.
• Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free from debris, scrap accumulation, trip hazards, and other conditions that may negatively impact safety or productivity.
• Implement and maintain company policies and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and working conditions.
• Manage all departmental MDI- goals in alignment with plant objectives (e.g., IFE, TRR, DART, Human Performance, OTIF, WCR, Operational Productivity, Labor Efficiency, OEE, Inventory, Budget, and Quality).
• Foster employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement within all areas of responsibility.
• Complete employee performance reviews, Performance Development Connections (PDCs), and corrective actions when appropriate.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to improve operational performance and process optimization.
• Partner with the Quality Department to investigate scrap, customer complaints, and process defects.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of Oracle/JDE transactions, inventory records, and departmental reporting.
• Manage recycling and scrap processes by ensuring proper segregation of clean and dirty recyclable materials, minimizing contamination, maximizing recovery value, and reducing waste.
• Review production schedules, staffing levels, and resource requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time execution.
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and employees to achieve target conditions and support succession planning initiatives.

The base salary range for this role is 72-95K. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or (internal) 10 years of Kawneer manufacturing experience as a department lead.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, 5S, or Black Belt methodologies.
• Experience leading Material Handling, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Logistics, or Manufacturing operations.
