SummaryThe Bus Operations team has an exciting Career Service opportunity for a Bus Operations Project/Program Manager III. The PPM III role is an opportunity to contribute to Bus Operations and support the delivery of transit as a human right. Bus Operations is undergoing change and growth, both in procedures and culture. A successful candidate will employ strategic and creative thinking through multiple concurrent projects to assist in these changes.

As a Project/Program Manager III, you will:- Lead medium to large operational and organizational improvement projects and programs.
- Support the Bus Operations Strategic Plan, monitoring Plan projects and assisting project leads and teams.
- Develop and implement project management systems and tools for the new Bus Operations Project Management Office
- Develop and deliver project management training for internal staff assigned to lead and participate in project teams.
- Develop and track measurable outcome
- Streamline Bus Operations processes to ensure departmental alignment and consistency throughout the division.
- Represent the division in department and division meetings.
- Assemble, lead, and coordinate the work of project teams. Resolve team or unit disputes.
- Coordinate, review, and report out on your projects or program processes.
- Provide meeting content to internal stakeholders.
- Work in conjunction with departmental staff.
- Plan, deploy, and administer divisional Teams and SharePoint sites.
- Perform other duties that support the team and/or the division in transforming operations and business processes.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, SkillsTo be considered eligible for this role, applicants must possess these minimum qualifications:- At least 3 years of experience in project or program management including initiating, planning, executing, and closing out projects to achieve specific goals.
- Experience leading a variety of project types and/or acting as team lead; including setting priorities, meeting deadlines, facilitating project team meetings, organizing work assignments, and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.

- Highly skilled at building rapport and trust quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience organizing, planning, and executing multiple projects with competing priorities.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Familiarity with local transit and mobility systems, including King County Metro.
- Experience with the public sector, either through consulting or employment within a government agency.
- Skill, knowledge, or familiarity with Lean methodology, process improvement methodology, and change management.
- Experience educating others in project management and/or process improvement skills and tools
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Knowledge of quantitative and quantitative research methods, data collection, and analysis.

Work Location
This is a hybrid position. The main work site for this position is King Street Center, 201 S Jackson St., Seattle, WA 98104. This position will be required to work in other Metro Bus Operation location and bases. The team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. Currently, employees are required to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. The ratio of remote to onsite work is subject to change depending on business needs. Employees have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Work Schedule:The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, though work outside of the normal work schedule may be required. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore not eligible for overtime
