Position OverviewThe Operations Financial Analyst provides data and financial analysis required to Operations to support operational decisions.
Responsibilities- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting activities for assigned operational groups, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and guidelines.
- Partner with business leaders to develop, analyze, and manage operational and capital budgets, using data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance and deliver regular variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to improve results.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and business insights to support strategic planning and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, including work orders, job costing, and journal entries.
- Support cross-functional teams by providing guidance on financial processes, reporting, and systems.
- Conduct financial analysis and special projects, including regulatory and ad-hoc reporting, to support business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting, and systems, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain and analyze financial data and metrics, translating complex information into clear, meaningful insights.
- Provide general operational support as needed, including collaboration across purchasing, fleet, and facilities functions.
Requirements- Education: completion of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Experience: three (3) years directly related relevant experience.
- Strong organizational, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in teams.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, cost benefit analysis and related analytical techniques.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems operations, environment and peripherals and various applications software in use in the department (SAP, SharePoint, BW Reports, BI and suite of MS Office products).
