Operations Facility & Logistics Engineer in
Chantilly, VA supporting cutting-edge and innovative space programs. The Operations Facility & Logistics Engineer combines project management (cost, schedule, performance) with the logistics of running physical operations facilities to ensure secure, compliant operations for a highly sensitive program. In addition, the candidate selected for the Operations Facility & Logistics Engineer role will be responsible for coordinating across various government and contractor sites.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for the establishment of an operations center for a major space system.
- Lead the effort to define the capabilities and location for the operations center for the specific satellite system, establish the operations center, and provide the integrated logistics support to maintain the operations center. Primary goals are to maximize system readiness, lower total lifecycle costs, and decrease the risk of unexpected system downtime and maintenance delays.
- Ensure the operating sites can be efficiently used by Operators through daily coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as operations center leadership's primary point of contact to ensure these stakeholders are provided with what they need to execute the mission on a day-to-day basis.
- Develop and maintain facilities plans, synchronizing efforts for facilities renovations, repairs, or alterations.
- Assist in the stand-up and management of communications networks to maintain the integrity and security of classified/unclassified networks, satellite links, and operational software.
- Assist in providing a seamless communication stream between military and intelligence agencies, as needed.
Qualifications- TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience
- Experience in operations management in support of DoD or satellite programs (preferably in a DoD SAP environment).
- Experience managing a project by executing a plan based on cost, schedule, and performance data.
- Experience providing programmatic support (evaluate vendor plans, schedules, risks, etc) for logistics efforts
- Familiarity with secure communication procedures for satellite operations centers.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
- Experience with the Intelligence Community or the Department of Defense Satellite Program Office best practices.
- Experience facilitating and running large, program-level meetings.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of programmatic and technical expertise.
- Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.
- TS/SCI Required.
- Previous SAP experience desired.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
