Full Job Description
SCOPE: The OES Leader is responsible for leading the deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the Operational Excellence System (OES) within the plant. This role serves as the site champion for OES, ensuring the effective implementation of OES standards, leadership systems, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence practices to achieve business objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People Development.

The OES Leader acts as a coach, facilitator, and change agent, working cross-functionally with all departments to build organizational capability and drive sustainable performance improvements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

OES Excellence Leader:
  • Provide OES expertise at the plant level, collaborating with departments to create an impactful OES deployment plan.
  • Ensure Production System deployment, supporting standardized work, Organization Structure development, and leading OES training sessions.
  • Contribute to lead time reduction through continuous flow implementation and provide expertise on Kanban loop sizing.
  • Lead the digital tools deployment ensuring quality data; captures and delivers training on digital tools.
  • Participate in OES principles application from the design stage, implementing lean process design and submitting plant good practices.

Productivity & Waste Reduction Champion:
  • Reduce the Gap to Benchmark for Plant Operations through identification of Productivity Potential and active participation in productivity workshops.
  • Contribute to Direct Labor, Manufacturing Cost, Scrap improvement initiatives, focusing on Kaizen, 7 wastes, cycle time improvement, bottleneck management, and more.
  • Ensure Direct Labor Efficiency tracking process and manage action plans.
  • Lead problem-solving activities for Scrap improvement.

OES Network Administrator:
  • Act as a change agent within the plant, cultivating an OES mindset rooted in Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
  • Promote OES through effective communication, pulling teams into the journey of continuous improvement.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Recommended 3 years of working experience within a production environment in a position that supports multiple areas (Supervision, Management, Engineering, Quality, etc..).
  • Recognized experience and ability to improve processes and implement KPI's within a plant using OES principles.
  • Launch of programs and previous leadership experience is a plus.
  • Problem diagnosis and analytic skills to understand and support action plans.
  • Ability to train and coach within all levels of the plant.
  • Networking, coaching and influencing skills a must.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage change.
  • Minimum education level - Degree in Business or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Fluent English language knowledge - written and spoken.


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Exposure to loud noise levels, dust, heat and cold and various chemicals while in plant area (lubricants, cutting fluids, drawing oils). Stooping, reaching, climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Hardhats, safety shoes, earplugs and safety glasses are a requirement to be worn at all times while in the plant.
