DEFINITION

The Operations Consultant is an experienced field operator responsible for driving measurable performance improvements across a portfolio of up to 60 restaurant locations. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the OC builds on a strong foundation of brand execution to take on expanded responsibilities including leading cross-functional projects and deepening franchisee accountability through sustained influence and documented results. A critical responsibility for this position will be opening new markets and working closely with the Field Operations Team to onboard new franchisees to the brand. This role requires a track record of consistently meeting brand metrics, strong P&L command, and the leadership presence to coach both operators and peers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct shoulder-to-shoulder hub trainings with 100% documented follow-up; execute all company-wide initiatives as directed by the Field Operations Manager with increased independence
  • Visit each restaurant in the assigned portfolio a minimum of once per quarter; proactively increase visit frequency and intensity for chronic underperformers based on data-driven prioritization
  • Prepare for every store visit and meeting by reviewing current performance metrics, scorecard trends, and root-cause analysis relative to each location; arrive with a clear action agenda
  • Protect brand integrity by executing follow-up protocols on Steritech, RER, and food safety inspection failures; monitor brand compliance trends across the portfolio and escalate patterns or systemic issues to the Field Operations Manager
  • Document store observations accurately and thoroughly using established SMART goal frameworks; schedule and conduct structured follow-up visits with clear accountability checkpoints
  • Maintain a detailed rolling 30-day calendar of all work-related visits and field activities
  • Send bi-weekly regional scorecard email with required metrics and written trend analysis; go beyond surface-level reporting to surface actionable insights
  • Submit all projects, documentation, recaps, and reports by deadlines assigned by the Field Operations Manager; archive all materials on the ZDrive or current records system in a timely manner
  • Lead or co-lead special projects and company-wide initiative rollouts as assigned by the Field Operations Manager; deliver results consistently on time and to standard
  • Drive franchisee accountability through structured follow-up cadences, documented commitments, and consistent measurement of brand initiative adoption rates; meet or exceed adoption rate targets across the portfolio
  • Deliver timely, targeted feedback to licensees grounded in data and operational expertise; partner with franchisees to set and achieve measurable performance targets
  • Collaborate proactively with cross-functional departments including Design & Construction, Training, Ops Services, Menu Innovation, Marketing, and IT in a lead capacity on shared initiatives
  • Demonstrate brand values and culture and represent the organization as a credible, high-performing field leader at company events, regional meetings, and franchisee forums


KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Consistently meets or exceeds 70% of required brand metrics; applies root-cause analysis to drive targeted improvement
  • Proven experience opening new markets and onboarding new franchisees to the brand
  • Strong command of P&L interpretation, financial forecasting, and business performance analysis
  • Communicates performance insights effectively at all organizational levels - from crew to franchisee to corporate leadership
  • Applied knowledge of QSR industry standards across operations, marketing, finance, and leadership
  • Demonstrated negotiation, persuasion, and accountability-building skills with franchisee partners
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver results consistently under competing priorities
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills; confident in franchisee and leadership forums
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with measurable influence on field performance outcomes
  • Must attain and maintain ServSafe certification
  • Working knowledge of applicable state and federal workplace health and safety regulations


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business/Management or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience and/or training in restaurant operations, finance, business, training and/or leadership; previous experience in business consultant role, in multi-restaurant setting, and/or above-store management preferred


SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $96,000
