The
Operations Analyst II - Connectivity role will collaborate closely with all members of the IT Operations and Connectivity teams, as well as 3rd party Carriers in supporting the management of all circuit documentation including LOAs, labeling, CI's and ServiceNow entries. This role will support the administrative functions of the connectivity-related areas of the department, including but not limited to connectivity audits and remediation activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned- Primary interface between the connectivity teams and the local DCO team for site connectivity audits and remediation activities
- Support all aspects of the carrier installation process once the contract/agreement is signed
- Coordinate carrier Site surveys, agreement documentation, installation, internal stakeholder updates, provisioning
- Documentation management - Distribute LOAs and KMZs to all relevant parties and stores them in repository. Ensure that CIs are documented in Service Now.
- Support-inter campus connectivity management, work with Product Managers on the inter-campus conduit (Summit IG)
- Support TechOps with billing invoice discrepancies with carriers (eg. Equinix, Digital Realty, etc)
- Assist with building a process/structure for growing areas of connectivity
- Escalation point for site-level connectivity problems
- Support large, complex client installs, issues and migrations
- Drive small connectivity related projects with project management resources
- Work with site teams to resolve site-level physical capacity management, scalability issues, resources
- Assist with Carrier Hotel audits, invoices, installations
- Help with the tactical aspects of OSP work, DWDM support, and hardware engagement with Principal Network Engineers
- Travel required: 25%
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Five or more years of data center operations/connectivity experience
- Working knowledge ServiceNow
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of carrier installation processes
- Basic experience with cabling/fiber optic installs/troubleshooting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- BICSI training and/or certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Candidate must be motivated, disciplined, and able to work effectively autonomously and understand when to ask necessary questions
