OverviewThe Operational Support Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing operational support functions for third-party yard activities, including order release, material receiving, shipping coordination, and inventory accuracy. This role drives performance, ensures service excellence, and provides strategic oversight of processes, systems, and third-party relationships to support customer on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesThe Role's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and serve as the primary escalation point for third-party yard operations, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
- Provides supervision and leadership for Operations Support staff located across the US.
- Assist in areas of training, coaching, facilitating, leading, and orienting the department staff.
- Maintain confidential information pertaining to supervisory duties.
- Work directly with Supply Chain and Operations to coordinate and reconcile field pipe inventory for all 3rd party yards within the US.
- Perform adjustments to 3rd party yard inventories as needed.
- Assist department staff in resolving identified problems by conducting research, which may involve communication with other MRC Global departments, third-party yard personnel, and all levels of MRC Global management.
- Manages transactions that require specific technical knowledge and product expertise.
- Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.

Required Experience- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Two (2) years of related MRC Global or industry experience with the successful acceptance of progressive levels of responsibility.
- Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience or demonstrated capability to supervise.
Skills & Abilities- Understanding of all 3rd party yard processes.
- Strong attention to detail with good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks to achieve on-time requirements.
- Ability to handle stress caused by meeting immediate and established deadlines.
- Strong reasoning and reading skills to interpret written/oral correspondence and to recognize, answer, and correct any inquiries.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and the ability to learn MRC Global-specific software.
- Must have a current, valid driver's license and acceptable record at all times.
Working Conditions- Frequent driving/traveling.
- Able to interact with others frequently.
- Most work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.
- Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work overtime and weekends.
