Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking an Operational Excellence (OPEX) Manager. This position will be located at our Beltsville, MD facility. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only.
The Operational Excellence (OPEX) Manager is the champion of the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) and is responsible for driving a shared CI culture and mindset in order to help Beltsville achieve long-term increases in manufacturing productivity, customer satisfaction, and business growth through operational and functional excellence. The OPEX Manager will also establish and implement metrics and performance monitoring systems to provide quantifiable results and impact of lean activities.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $149000 - $219000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
• Build and champion a CI Culture Management System to drive sustainable performance that creates a culture of problem solving through leader standard work, daily accountability, visual management, process checks, and Gemba walks.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to lead the development and implementation of the site Lean and Six Sigma strategy, actions, and cross-functional activities via the Continuous Improvement Council.
• Provide Lean and Six Sigma support across the organization to drive short-term and long-term improvements, including training, mentoring, facilitating Kaizen events, and Six Sigma projects.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies through developed metrics and make necessary adjustments in order to drive Factory Cost Out (FCO) opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate site Operational Assessment (OpA) preparations.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years experience in Operations or Manufacturing.

• This position requires access to export-controlled information. Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience managing direct reports.
• Minimum of three (3) years at a staff level position in a manufacturing facility.
• Aerospace experience.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
Skills:
• Excellent communicator and team builder.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high degree of attention to detail.
• Must be comfortable conducting Lean assessments, facilitating Kaizen events, building and implementing divisional and site level improvement plans, providing hands on training and coaching of key projects and teams.
• A good understanding of Lean principles 7 tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, 5 S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, A3, 3P, Problem Solving, Sustainability and SPC.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement a CI roadmap for an operating business.
