Position OverviewKNS has an opening for a mid-career operational estimator in our growing team. You will be part of our rapidly growing nuclear market, which includes civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. This role will support quantity takeoffs, project status, and change orders. Also involved in work package development.
LocationThis position is based in Aiken, SC. Daily site attendence is required.
Responsibilities- Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications, etc.).
- Perform all tasks related to quantity takeoff and pricing of design-build projects in the nuclear market
- Identify, quantify, and communicate risk through the estimating process.
- Perform project/site visits and investigations as needed.
- Support work package scoping and development
- Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input and value engineering for preliminary project plans.
- Participate in the planning process brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers

QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in estimating and quantity takeoffs
• Proficiency in one core discipline
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Possess strong mathematical and computer skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Must be willing to travel as the job requires
- This role may require a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. citizenship to obtain.
