Operational Communications Manager | Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are supporting a confidential search for an Operational Communications Manager within a large, multi-site organization operating in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

This role is responsible for coordinating communications during operational incidents, disruptions, and sensitive situations that require timely, accurate, and consistent messaging across internal and external stakeholders. The position plays a key role in ensuring communication alignment between multiple departments and leadership teams during time-sensitive events.

This individual will act as a central point of coordination for issue-related communications and will support both planned and unplanned operational scenarios requiring structured messaging and escalation support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication efforts during operational incidents and sensitive situations
  • Draft and distribute messaging to internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment during active situations
  • Review incoming incident information to determine communication needs and escalation paths
  • Support communication workflows, approvals, and messaging consistency
  • Assist in maintaining templates, response guides, and communication protocols
  • Monitor emerging issues and identify potential reputational risks
  • Support leadership with updates, summaries, and situational communications
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and process improvement discussions
  • Help ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all messaging channels

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in communications, public relations, corporate communications, or similar function
  • Experience handling time-sensitive or high-pressure communication scenarios
  • Strong writing, judgment, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and organizational levels
  • Experience in complex, multi-location or operational environments preferred

Compensation & Details
  • Base Salary: $110,000 - $140,000
  • Bonus: Up to 15%
