  • Experience with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in SQL.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and experience with SAP ERP.
  • Ability to have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The Acquire to Retire (A2R) team manages the global accounting for Google's entire Capital Expenditure (Cap Ex) portfolio, manufacturing operations and related expenses. This infrastructure is at the foundation of Google - the global data centers, networks and integrating hardware and software that powers both our unique customer products and services and our internal operations. As a member of this team, you will find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. As Operations Accountant you will be focused on running highly effective and efficient processes for asset setup, modifications and retirements, as well as month end close reporting and reconciliation processes related to Property, Plant or Equipment (PP&E) accounts.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $105000 - $151000 (USD) 15% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Oversee global tracking and accounting for Google's Data Center construction projects using the SAP Project Systems subledger.
  • Execute month-end close activities (including Project Systems close, flux analysis, and balance sheet reporting) and present findings to finance leadership, cross-functional partners, and auditors.
  • Maintain and execute SOX internal controls aligned with risk assessment frameworks, escalating potential issues promptly.
  • Partner with operations, tax, product, legal, and IT teams to implement new accounting flows and support evolving business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in A2R operations to elevate reporting and reconciliation quality while uncovering efficiencies through automation, and elimination.
