Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of oncology? As an Oncology Market Access Senior Manager at AstraZeneca, you'll be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding oncology business. Based in Gaithersburg, MD, this role offers the chance to shape U.S. market access strategies for a leading medicine. Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement compelling product value propositions across key market segments under the guidance of the OMAS Director or Senior Director. 
  • Assist in creating and driving launch access strategies to secure and maintain access, reimbursement, and affordability. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather market insights from patients, providers, and payers, informing comprehensive market access strategies. 
  • Lead the development of field resources, programs, and tactics to implement market access strategies. 
  • Support account management teams in customer strategy, planning, and execution, including training and promotional tools/resources. 
  • Ensure alignment of strategy with sales organization to drive product demand. 
  • Manage agency relationships to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of promotional programs. 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Alliance counterparts to ensure collaboration, appropriate alignment and highly effective partnerships
  • Develop and manage budgets in compliance with AstraZeneca finance and accounting requirements. 
  • Conduct all company business in accordance with regulations and company policies. 

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • 3+ years of proven years of progressive experience within the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical market including payer marketing, brand marketing, market research, account management, and/or field sales. 
  • Strong or emerging understanding of the U.S. market access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals. 
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into tactical implementation. 
  • Teamwork and leadership skills, including the ability to gain consensus and act within ambiguous, complex matrix organization. 
  • Results oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of customer and industry marketing practices and trends. 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%). 

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Relevant Advanced Degree, e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD, etc. 
  • Experience developing and executing strategy. 
  • Experience in oncology and/or managed care/payer experience. 
  • Experience in oncology buy-and-bill. 


The annual base pay for this position ranges from $ 145,205.60 - 217,808.40 USD. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
