Full Job Description
The Registered Dietitian plays a key role in advancing workplace wellbeing by supporting onsite health and wellness programs designed to help employees improve their overall health, build sustainable healthy habits, and connect with available health resources and benefits.

This role provides individualized nutrition counseling and lifestyle coaching to employees across a broad range of health and wellness needs, including weight management, chronic condition management, preventive health, and medical nutrition therapy. The Registered Dietitian partners with employees to develop personalized, evidence-based plans that support their unique goals and health outcomes.

In addition to nutrition services, this role serves as a trusted wellness resource by providing education, guidance, and support related to healthy lifestyle behaviors, stress management, physical activity, and overall wellbeing. The Registered Dietitian delivers in-person consultations, group education sessions, and health-focused programming to support employees across a variety of health topics and conditions. A solid understanding of health plan benefits and available resources is essential to helping employees navigate services and make informed, cost-effective healthcare decisions.

The Registered Dietitian is also responsible for planning, facilitating, and executing onsite wellness events, campaigns, and activities that promote employee engagement and a culture of health. Success in this role requires close collaboration with site leadership, wellness champions, employee resource groups, and other key stakeholders to design and implement both enterprise-wide and site-specific wellness initiatives.

As a highly visible member of the onsite wellbeing team, the Registered Dietitian serves as a welcoming and trusted presence, helping foster meaningful employee connections and engagement.

The Registered Dietitian engages and empowers employees to make meaningful lifestyle changes that support improved health, wellbeing, and productivity. Through personalized coaching, education, and resource navigation, this role helps employees achieve their health goals and improve overall quality of life.

As a visible and trusted wellbeing partner, the Registered Dietitian serves as a health role model across the worksite, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance employee wellbeing and connecting employees and leaders with appropriate health, wellness, and benefits resources.

The Registered Dietitian supports employees in navigating the healthcare system by helping them understand and maximize available benefits, access quality care, identify cost-effective treatment options, and connect with relevant clinical and wellness programs. This includes serving as a resource for questions related to benefits, care options, provider selection, and available health support services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as employee advocate, going above and beyond to provide expert, proactive services such as:
    • Delivering personalized guidance and support to help employees access the right care, resources, and benefits at the right time
    • Guide employees toward high-quality, cost-effective care and support informed healthcare decision-making
    • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and facilitate resolution of healthcare access and claims-related concerns, as appropriate
    • Connect employees to UnitedHealth Group and community-based wellbeing resources that support their overall health and wellbeing
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external healthcare partners to enhance care coordination and resource accessibility
  • Serve as clinician providing the following on-site services:
    • In-person and virtual nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy, and lifestyle coaching to support employees across a broad range of health and wellness needs
    • Coaching and care coordination with clinic team for a Medical Weight Loss program
    • Biometric screenings
    • Lead weight management and healthy lifestyle group classes
    • Deliver evidence-based guidance related to nutrition, physical activity, preventive health, stress management, and behavior change
    • Support chronic condition prevention and management through personalized coaching, care coordination, and referral to appropriate resources and programs
    • Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies
  • Deliver population health strategic planning and outreach
    • Analyze employee health and engagement trends to identify opportunities for targeted wellbeing initiatives and population health improvement
    • Develop and execute quarterly action plans that address identified health risks and support organizational wellbeing objectives
    • Conduct proactive outreach to employees, including onboarding support, program engagement activities, and follow-up with individuals who may benefit from additional wellbeing resources
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion campaigns, programs, and events
    • Provide recommendations to enhance employee engagement, participation, and awareness through targeted communication and marketing strategies
  • Well-being champion
    • Serve as a visible and approachable wellbeing ambassador, fostering a culture that values health, wellbeing, and employee engagement
    • Build trusted relationships with employees, leaders, wellness champions, and key stakeholders across the worksite
    • Collaborate with wellness champions, employee engagement committees, and other site partners to advance wellbeing initiatives and organizational goals
    • Support and coordinate wellbeing communications, educational campaigns, and site-wide awareness efforts across multiple channels
    • Model healthy behaviors, maintain a positive and inclusive presence, and inspire employees to engage in their wellbeing journey

Required Qualifications:

  • Current, Registered Dietitian and licensed or license eligible in the state of MN
  • BLS certification required, can obtain upon hire
  • 3+ years clinical experience in a hospital or community setting
  • Experience in a wellness and/or condition management role
  • Proficient with a variety of computer based clinical care tools/EMR
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power Point
  • Proven ability to deliver health education and programming to motivate and engage
  • Proven self-directed, self-managed
  • Demonstrated ability and experience leading group classes
  • Demonstrated solid oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication that is clear, well-organized and demonstrates an understanding of audience needs
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data


Position requirements:

  • Location: Minnetonka, MN
  • General day-time Monday-Friday (Specific days/hours to be determined)
  • Hours may change on demand


Preferred Qualification:

  • Health and Wellness Coaching certification or coaching experience


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
