Oliver Wyman Vector is seeking an experienced Lead Aircraft Technical Specialist. This advanced-level role is part of a large team committed to auditing aircraft maintenance records and delivering the highest-quality products to clients. The Lead Aircraft Technical Specialist combines deep industry and technical expertise with workstream leadership, process ownership, quality assurance and approval, mentoring, and client/stakeholder engagement. Role Expectations
• Operate as an advanced-level specialist with a deep understanding of aircraft records, continued airworthiness, configuration control, and the broader aviation maintenance environment.
• Influence and guide teams by establishing work methods, quality standards, and review processes; ensure adherence rather than serving only as an individual author.
• Lead defined workstreams within larger projects by developing workplans, tracking progress, prioritizing work, and raising risks or issues promptly.
• Mentor, train, and provide actionable feedback to specialists in the technical focus area, balancing delegation, direct content support, team efficiency, and development opportunities.
• Serve as a quality approver for internal and client-ready deliverables, taking accountability for both personal output and the output of others.
• Build and nurture relationships with clients, key stakeholders, and colleagues across capabilities, becoming a trusted go-to resource on technical topics.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally, as required to support clients.
Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of prior work-related experience in aircraft records or as an aircraft technical representative.
• Comprehensive understanding of applicable Federal or National Aviation Authority regulations concerning aircraft, engines, and appliances, including continued airworthiness, configuration control, and pertinent client manuals.
• 6+ years of experience performing relevant aspects of the qualifications and responsibilities with a Part 121 carrier.
• Extensive and comprehensive mastery of the skills required in the technical focus area, with the ability to teach and mentor others in those skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to frame problems, select appropriate frameworks, develop insightful hypotheses and solutions, lead team discussions, and secure team/client/project buy-in.
• High attention to detail while manipulating, reconciling, or managing large volumes of data.
• Proficiency in database management and auditing, with the ability to adapt, manipulate, or develop tools required for the area of expertise.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and other spreadsheet applications, Outlook, and Word; general knowledge of Google Drive.
• Working knowledge of client-based maintenance tracking systems such as Wizard, Merlin, Trax, Maintenix, and AMOS.
• Demonstrated and continually developing project management skills, including work planning, progress tracking, prioritization, risk mitigation, and deadline management.
• Effective written, verbal, presentation, and meeting-facilitation skills; able to create logical storylines, tailor communications to the audience, listen actively, and adapt to others' cues.
• Ability to collaborate professionally, credibly, and objectively across teams and with clients; able to build trusted relationships and deliver on commitments.

Core Technical Responsibilities
• Lead the design and execution of technical analyses performed by more junior team members, providing clear direction, review, and approval.
• Interpret, audit, and verify Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and methods of compliance.
• Determine the applicability of Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
• Verify time since new and time used on life-limited parts and hard-time components installed on engines, landing gear, and airframes.
• Perform and review back-to-birth traceability for life-limited components installed on airframes, engines, and landing gear.
• Verify aircraft documentation for proper sign-off, parts certificates, nondestructive testing (NDT) records, and vendor approvals.
• Research and resolve aircraft-records issues, escalating to the appropriate work groups when necessary.
• Analyze and review minor and major repair records to verify installation and compliance.
• Evaluate Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for installation and compliance.
• Leverage deep technical knowledge and relevant computer models and databases to develop practical solutions for clients.
• Use client-based maintenance tracking systems, including Wizard, Merlin, Trax, Maintenix, and AMOS, for research, updates, and data input as required.
• Remain directly involved in complex, high-risk, or judgment-intensive work while delegating routine production appropriately and ensuring consistent adherence to agreed processes.
• Candidates performing Aircraft Technical Representative duties must have prior aircraft maintenance experience and a quality background.
Education & Credentials
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred but not required unless acting as Technical Representative.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $105,000 - $120,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible for performance-based incentives.
