Main Purpose: Manages end-to-end physical oil product logistics and provides real-time desk support to traders. Oversees post-trade execution to ensure contract compliance while leveraging operational insights to support commercial decision-making.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Ability to interpret operational requirements of commodity contracts and review/comment on terms prior to execution.
- Basic understanding of the legal framework supporting oil pipeline and transport contracts.
- Efficient problem solver with strong interpersonal skills, high standards of professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of petroleum product specification and Experience scheduling pipeline movements, storage terminals, or waterborne vessels is preferred.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize supply chain logistics, and proactively communicate market or operational insights to traders.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end execution for physical refined products moving across pipeline networks, storage terminals, trucks, and waterborne vessels.
- Coordinate pipeline movements, terminal transfers, trucks and marine vessel load/discharge operations.
- Oversee storage facility logistics, including inventory management, quality management, tank transfers and blending operations.
- Issue precise operational and documentary instructions to pipelines, terminals, transport carriers, inspectors, and vessel agents.
- Review trade recap tickets and contracts to verify operational feasibility and ensure alignment with commercial terms.
- Work with the trading desk to optimize logistics, maximize P&L and mitigate exposure the company.
- Liaise with Trade Finance to ensure accurate, timely issuance of Letters of Credit.
- Oversee customs clearance, import/export documentation, tax compliance, and local regulatory requirements for regional and cross-border movements.
- Generate invoice requests, control operational cost, and execute full gain/loss reconciliations for each transaction.
- Maintain clean, real-time data within the internal operating system (Pluto) to ensure precise inventory and activity tracking.
- Appoint, monitor, and evaluate third-party service providers, including independent surveyors, customs brokers, freight haulers, and terminal operators.
- Document, present, and pursue third-party claims (demurrage, transit losses, quality off-specs) to secure maximum financial recovery.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with pipeline operators, terminal schedulers, carrier representatives, and counterparty operations teams.
- Strictly adhere to internal compliance guidelines, company risk policies, and Trafigura's HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment, and Community) standards.
