Full Job Description
Castleton Commodities International, is hiring a Confirmations Analyst for our Houston, TX office. The Confirmations Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate generation, validation, and affirmation of physical and financial contracts across CCI’s Oil & Refined Products portfolio. The role serves as a key link between the front, middle, and back offices, ensuring trade accuracy, reducing contractual risk, and supporting a seamless trade lifecycle from execution through settlement. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate, track, and execute trade confirmations for various types of physical and financial energy trades including and not limited to Oil Liquids and Refined Products.

  • Review broker recaps, third party contracts and contract correspondence for appropriate tagging with deals and reconciliation against ETRM System(s).

  • Work closely with Legal, Credit and Commercial to draft long form confirmations and responses.

  • Resolve discrepancies and inaccuracies in confirmations and ETRM System(s) by communicating with Traders, Counterparties and Brokers.

  • Perform complex daily support functions such as identifying and chasing unconfirmed deals, aged confirmations and other various reporting requirements.

  • Reviewing processes and identifying ways to create efficiencies across the team.

  • Maintain confirmation templates within the systems by working with Team and Legal to ensure language is up to date, accurate and tested when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law or related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within the Energy Trading markets (Oil focus preferred).

  • Prior experience drafting waterborne confirmations.

  • Prior experience with ETRM systems (e.g., CXL, Allegro, RightAngle, etc.)

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and numerical skills; ability to seek information and interpret data from multiple sources to resolve problems or implement new processes.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to identify problems and propose solution(s).

  • Highest level of ownership and accountability.

  • Ability and desire to work in a global team-centered environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-intensity environment including open-floor plan if applicable to the position, with timely responsiveness and the ability to work beyond normal business hours when required.
