Job Overview

Yandt Boat Works, a specialist marine and cargo surveying company established in 2014, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Offshore Oil & Gas Marine Technician to join our team. We are committed to delivering an exceptional, service-oriented experience for our clients, offering a wide range of services from pre-purchase surveys to comprehensive repair management. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert responsible for conducting detailed surveys, inspections, and maintenance management on a variety of marine assets within the offshore oil and gas industry. This position requires a professional with a strong technical background and the ability to operate effectively in demanding offshore environments.

Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive condition, value, and damage surveys on offshore support vessels, platforms, and related equipment.
• Perform detailed technical inspections of marine systems, including propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and navigational equipment.
• Diagnose faults, and oversee and manage repair contracts to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
• Prepare detailed and accurate survey reports, documenting findings, and providing clear recommendations to clients.
• Ensure all activities and inspected assets comply with classification society rules, maritime regulations, and industry safety standards.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements, explain technical findings, and provide outstanding customer service.
• Travel frequently to national and international offshore locations to perform on-site duties.

Qualifications
• Proven experience working as a Marine Technician, Marine Engineer, or a similar technical role within the offshore oil and gas sector.
• Strong technical knowledge of marine diesel engines, power generation, and auxiliary systems.
• Experience in marine surveying, including pre-sale, pre-purchase, or insurance damage claim assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for report writing.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects in challenging and remote offshore environments.
• A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Must be willing and physically able to travel extensively and work offshore for extended periods.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) are highly desirable.
