Office Leader for our Washington, DC office. The Office Leader will provide leadership for the DC team, strengthen client relationships, support business growth, and develop a high-performing office and its future leaders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the DC-area transportation and infrastructure market, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a genuine commitment to developing people and building teams.
Compensation for this position is $210k - $260k, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership for the DC office, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
- Develop and mentor staff, create opportunities for advancement, and build the next generation of DC leaders.
- Interview, hire, train, assign and directing work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems.
- Promote collaboration across disciplines and with JMT's Herndon and Vienna offices.
- Manage contracts and provide oversight of Project Managers.
- Maintain close liaison with clients to resolve project questions.
- Seal/sign construction documents as appropriate.
- Support the financial performance and operational success of the office.
- Forecast administrative staffing, and facility needs for office.
- Oversight and development of proposals, procurement schedules and business development activities in collaboration with marketing staff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, as well as develop new clients in the Washington, DC market.
- Represent JMT in the DC market and strengthen the firm's reputation and presence in the region.
- Support growth across JMT's transportation, water-energy-environment, building and infrastructure and related services.
- Collaborate with Area, Regional and Corporate leadership to support work-share and advance JMT's strategic goals
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required ExperienceRequired Experience- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Master's degree in engineering (Preferred)
- Registered Professional Engineer in DC
- 20+ years of industry experience including supervisory, project management, and business development.
Working ConditionsSuccessful candidate is expected to work primarily in-person. Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
