Description:Server Systems Engineer 2 to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise computer systems. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, and security across server and workstation environments. This is a
full-time, day shift position (Monday-Friday) located in Anchorage, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with system architecture, troubleshooting, and operational support within a dynamic technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and define system architecture for new and existing computer systems
- Maintain and support enterprise computer systems, including configuration, updates, and overall system health
- Provide technical support across networks, software, hardware, system configurations, and architectures
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex hardware and software issues
- Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and layered software packages
- Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure efficiency and reliability
- Ensure system and data integrity through implementation of standard hardware and software solutions
- Execute and maintain system backups and database archive operations to support data recoverability
- Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Support system security and performance to meet user and operational requirements
- Evaluate existing systems and contribute to long-term planning and technical strategy
- Train end users on proper use of hardware and software
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 14+ years of System Engineering experience.
- Experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise systems and infrastructure
- Strong understanding of system architecture, networking, and server operations, including performance optimization
- Knowledge of system backup/recovery, data integrity practices, and ability to communicate technical concepts to end users
