Job Description and Responsibilities

This is a full-time, on-site role as an Occupational Therapist (OT) serving a school located in Pecos, NM.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

Position Details

  • Full-time school-based opportunity with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
  • Provide services to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Assignment may include travel between multiple school locations within the district
  • Primarily an on-site, in-person position with limited remote flexibility for documentation, IEP meetings, and other approved administrative tasks, as determined by the district
  • Deliver direct therapy services, complete evaluations and assessments, provide consultation, and manage assigned student caseloads
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized student support plans
  • Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, planning, meetings, report writing, and administrative responsibilities
  • Balanced caseloads designed to support high-quality student services and professional success
  • Ongoing collaboration and guidance from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team
  • $50-$65+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $1,875-$2,437+


Qualifications
  • BS, Master's, OTD, or PhD in Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited university
  • State License as Occupational Therapist

  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required

  • Strong foundation in Sensory Integration and ability to identify and analyze areas of developmental and sensory-motor dysfunction

  • Proficient in use of technology

  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications


Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
