Job Description

The Division of Preventive, Hyperbaric, Infectious Disease, and Occupational Medicine (PHIDOM) at Mayo Clinic is seeking a physician to join our Occupational Medicine practice. Our clinical scope includes evaluation and management of healthcare workers, commercial aviators, transportation professionals, and other safety-sensitive worker populations. The practice encompasses Commercial Driver Medical Examiner (CDME) and Medical Review Officer (MRO) services, with training provided as needed. Physicians with experience or interest in serving as an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) would have the opportunity to evaluate commercial aviators as part of a well-established aerospace medicine program.

Candidates with relevant experience or interest may also participate in our Hyperbaric Medicine clinical rotation, providing exposure to a subspecialty rarely co-located within an occupational medicine division.

You will join a collegial, multidisciplinary team engaged in patient care, teaching, and research. Mayo Clinic supports every physician's growth through formal and informal mentoring, individualized professional development plans, and a rich institutional network of resources. Our physician group is close-knit; we support each other and recognize that work-life balance is necessary for long-term success.

Qualifications:
  • Board certified or board eligible in Occupational Medicine. We are looking for physicians with a genuine commitment to keeping workers healthy, safe, and able.
  • Additional board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is beneficial.
  • Experience in aviation medicine (AME, flight surgeon), hyperbaric medicine, CDME, or MRO is valued but not required; training and credentialing support are available.
  • A strong interest in academic medicine - including but not limited to peer-reviewed research, clinical investigation, quality improvement, education, and practice innovation - is expected.

Interested candidates please apply and attach CV and cover letter.
