GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a Chief for its newly created Litigation Support and Technology Division.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
¿ Directs, oversees, and coordinates all activities of the division, including the supervision, direction, and evaluation of division staff; managing division budget; human resources functions, administrative and organizational problems within the division; and the planning, coordination, and maintenance of production schedules within the division.
¿ Develops and implements longterm technology strategies that support the agency's litigation, investigations, and trial operations; serves as the principal advisor to executive leadership regarding litigation technology, digital evidence handling, and courtroom technical capabilities; establishes divisionwide priorities aligned with agency and state strategic goals; oversees planning, deployment, and maintenance of litigation technology systems, including document management platforms, legal review tools, trial presentation systems, eDiscovery platforms, and case support applications; ensures secure, efficient workflows for electronic case materials, digital evidence, and sensitive information across all litigation teams; leads development and enforcement of standards for case data intake, storage, preservation, and production; directs eDiscovery operations, including intake of electronically stored information (ESI), processing, review, analytics, production, and compliance with state/federal rules of civil and criminal procedure; oversees technical support for courtroom proceedings, including trial presentation systems, multimedia evidence display, remote testimony tools, and courtroom technology readiness; collaborates with information security, IT infrastructure, and legal divisions to ensure litigation technologies meet state standards for cybersecurity, accessibility, continuity, and data protection; maintains compliance with state and federal laws, open records obligations, retention schedules, and privacy requirements; leads evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies that may enhance litigation efficiency or evidence handling; facilitates cross division workflows with legal divisions, investigative units, IT, and executive offices to ensure coordinated support for all litigation activities¿ builds training programs and best practice guides for litigation technology use across the agency; oversees procurement, contract negotiation, and performance management for litigation technology platforms, hosting vendors, and evidencehandling services; leads agencywide initiatives such as digital transformation projects, largescale discovery matters, modernization of courtroom technologies, and statewide legal technology standards; serves as a subjectmatter expert in task forces, committees, and interagency partnerships.
¿ Directs, manages, and oversees all cases and special project requests from Executive Administration; oversees and facilitates all special task forces, committees, studies, and projects; periodically briefs division, Executive Management, and other agency division management on agency matters; and monitors and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
¿ With approval from Executive Administration and Agency Press Office, may represent the agency publicly at designated events (e.g., press conferences, meetings, public announcements) regarding significant, highprofile, and complex multidivisional civil litigation matters.
¿ Performs related work as assigned

¿ Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
¿ Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
¿ Experience performing complex case management
¿ Experience in civil litigation in both federal and state courts
¿ Knowledge of relevant law and legal principles and practices
¿ Excellent organization/administrative skills, including a strong, consistent attention to detail and organized work style
¿ Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
¿ Skill in effective oral and written communication (Note: Writing sample may be required for selected interviewees.)
¿ Skill in conducting legal research
¿ Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
¿ Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
¿ Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
¿ Ability to provide excellent customer service
¿ Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
¿ Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform inperson work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
¿ Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
¿ Ability to arrange for personal transportation for businessrelated travel
¿ Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 50%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
¿ Education: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
¿ Experience managing civil litigation
