The Nurse Supervisor 24/7 practice is responsible for supervising patient care, operations, and staff development for their assigned specialty area. This individual promotes excellence based on department specific and organizational goals. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24 hour clinical accountability for assigned areas. The Nurse Supervisor 24/7 practice creates a professional environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care and is an advocate for patient and staff safety. This position requires collaboration with all other Mayo services to enhance patient care and assure that appropriate care is delivered for the population served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's specific needs is required. The Nurse Supervisor 24/7 practice supports leadership through activities that include development of staff, teaching, and community involvement. The individual may also be involved with hiring staff, staffing the unit and participation in committees and research. The individual supervises nursing practice within a hospital-based program/unit and has supervisory responsibilities such as staff performance reviews.

Description of Surgical Progressive Care Unit
Mayo Clinic Arizona's Progressive Care is a high acuity 24 bed unit that includes hemodynamic monitoring to a
diverse patient population. As a Magnet Facility, we have great resources to allow our nurses to deliver
unparalleled care. We care for patients on High-Flow, BiPAP, titratable drips, and/or require intensive
monitoring and interventions. We frequently care for the following patient populations:
• Neurosurgery
• Neurology/Comprehensive Stroke
• Vascular Surgery
• ENT/Plastics- FLAP reconstruction
• Internal Medicine: DKA, Sepsis, GI bleeds, Covid
• Hepatology
• Solid Organ Transplant
• General/Colo-rectal Surgery

Qualifications
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited associate or diploma nursing program, as recognized by the
Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE),
National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide
documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing
program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
Additional Qualifications:
• Progressive or Intermediate Care experience preferred.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• One year RN experience within the last five years preferred.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
License or Certification:
• License or Certification:
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• ACLS required upon hire date and does not expire within 90 days of hire date.
• Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
• Current BLS.
