Job Description

Supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate staff;
• Effectively recommends personnel actions related to selection, disciplinary procedures, performance, leaves of absence, grievances, work schedules and assignments.
• Administers personnel and related policies and procedures. Keeps accurate tie keeping of all employees of the health services area.
• Directs Health Services to assure achievement of optimal level of care to offenders to meet care standards.
• Establishes and maintains guidelines for staffing within the health care agency to assure adequate nursing coverage for all offender areas. Maintains a nursing schedule to cover the institution 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In this position you will be expected to positively supervise and evaluate subordinate staff. Along with leading the department you will be responsible for development, implementation and revision of institutional Health Services Procedures. You will be a part of a variety of committees and teams that promote successful leadership

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and experience equal to three years of full-time supervisory/management nursing experience;
OR
graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Nursing and experience equal to one year of full-time supervisory/management nursing experience;
OR
an equivalent combination of the required education and experience, substituting one year of experience for thirty semester hours or equivalent of education; no substitution for three years of full-time supervisory/management nursing experience.
