Summary
Master's prepared registered nurse with in-depth knowledge of nursing theory and education, who plans, designs, coordinates, and evaluates educational programs for the attainment of departmental goals. Key responsibility involves review and coordination of all nursing continuing education programs, maintenance of all records related to continuing education activities, and ensuring timely submission of all required data and applicable applications to the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.

Job Duties
  • Ensures ongoing record keeping and submission of contact hour program materials, evaluations, attendees, contact hour awarded, and any other required information to maintain provider unit status with PA State Nurses Association.
  • Actively participates in activities to maintain Magnet Program Recognition accreditation with special attention to areas involving nursing education activities.
  • Actively participates on committees as assigned and shares information with peers and managers.
  • Maintains required certification related to area of responsibility/expertise.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Related field
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - American Heart Association

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
