Position Title: Nursing Home & Medical Malpractice Paralegal
An established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Nursing Home & Medical Malpractice Paralegal to support a Partner handling complex, high-value medical malpractice and nursing home negligence matters. This is a hands-on role blending litigation and pre-suit responsibilities, with significant involvement in discovery, medical records, medical chronologies, client communication, and case preparation.
The ideal candidate has deep Florida personal injury litigation experience, extensive exposure to medical records, and the confidence to work alongside a highly involved attorney. This person will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a demanding caseload where accuracy and follow-through matter.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities - Support a Partner on complex medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases through both pre-suit and litigation
- Manage a high-volume desk involving approximately 75% medical malpractice and 25% nursing home matters
- Review extensive medical records, identify missing documentation, and prepare detailed medical chronologies
- Handle heavy discovery, including assisting clients with responses and gathering supporting documentation
- Maintain regular client communication and coordinate with claims adjusters, attorneys, medical providers, medical examiners, and other parties
- Assist with case preparation for mediation, trial, and expert depositions, including maintaining current medical records and bills
- Track medical bills, payments and liens, retain qualified experts and witnesses and assist with lien reductions, closing statements and case closings
Requirements - Minimum 5 years of experience handling a heavy caseload of personal injury matters in Florida, with approximately 10 years of experience preferred
- Medical malpractice or nursing home litigation experience required
- Extensive experience reviewing, organizing, and analyzing complex medical records
- Strong knowledge of Florida personal injury litigation and pre-suit processes
- Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload with exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Confidence working closely with a highly involved attorney and professionally communicating concerns or recommendations when needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and case management software; Filevine experience preferred
- Paralegal certificate and/or college degree preferred but not required
