Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation for all student interactions, complying with HIPAA regulations
  • Utilize laboratory services and in-office screenings appropriately and cost-effectively
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Overview
Provide assessment, diagnostic, treatment management, and education to students who present to Student Health Services. This is a 9 month full time academic year position.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Obtain history, assess, diagnose, treat, and educate students who present at the Student Health Center. Utilize laboratory services, in-office self-report screenings, x-ray, and other diagnostic tools in an appropriate and cost-effective manner. (60%)
  2. Make referrals off campus, including urgent care, hospital emergency room, and specialists in the Providence community, as deemed necessary. (20%)
  3. Maintain complete and accurate documentation on all student encounters, including phone calls, consultation with on and off-campus staff and medical providers, prescriptions, and laboratory results. Maintain HIPPA compliance at all times. (20%)

  1. Perform all other duties as may be required.

Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • Three to five years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with experience in college health or adolescent medicine preferred
  • Board certification as an adult or family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive privileges
  • CPR certified
  • State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Basic knowledge of Medicat Electronic Health Record system.
  • Strong communication skills.
