The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practicing Provider for its Gynecologic Oncology Division. Candidates should have an interest in serving a varied patient population in a community setting. This position will be 100% clinical billable and are multiple locations across the Cincinnati Metropolitan area. Primary responsibilities include working collaboratively with Gynecologic Oncology physicians and providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients.

Essential Functions

  • Working collaboratively with Gynecologic Oncology physicians and providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
  • Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with other providers, learners, and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in education of residents and medical students.
  • Perform history and physical examinations in the outpatient setting; write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries.
  • Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, and complete in a timely fashion per department standards.
  • Seek the consult of supervising physicians when needed and participate in case/chart review.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
  • Complete all trainings in a timely fashion.

Nurse Practitioner

Required Education
  • Master's degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.


Required Trainings/Certifications
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
  • Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.


Required Experience
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience.
  • Experience in women's health and/or cancer.

Physician's Assistant

Required Education
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.


Required Trainings/Certifications
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

  • Experience in women's health and/or cancer.
