Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and growing Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular program that continues to expand in both size and scope.

As we continue to enhance our general Cardiology services, this position will help support comprehensive inpatient coverage at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. The service will include four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who rotate between the inpatient service and our outpatient Cardiology practices located on Rollinsford Road in Dover and Terrascape Parkway in Somersworth. This integrated model is designed to promote continuity of care for our Cardiology patients across both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position with scheduling flexibility, including the option to work four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts. The position also includes a weekend rotation of approximately one weekend in four.

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

Master's Degree Nursing required

Experience
2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience 1-2 years required
