Job SummaryMass General Brigham (MGB) is seeking an accomplished and collaborative physician leader to serve as Vice Chair, Community Urology. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of community-based urologic care across one of the nation's leading integrated healthcare systems.
QualificationsReporting to the Chair of MGB Urology, the Vice Chair will provide strategic and clinical leadership for urologic services across the MGB Community Division, spanning Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, including Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Martha's Vineyard Hospital, Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Salem Hospital, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, and affiliated community practices.
Working closely with physician, hospital, and system leadership, the Vice Chair will advance an integrated vision for Community Urology focused on clinical excellence, access, quality, physician engagement, workforce development, and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Chair of MGB Urology and Community Division leadership to establish and advance the strategic vision for Community Urology.
- Provide leadership and oversight across MGB's community-based urology programs, promoting clinical quality, safety, access, patient experience, and operational excellence.
- Support the recruitment, development, mentorship, and retention of physicians, advanced practice providers, and physician leaders across community sites.
- Develop a multiyear workforce and recruitment strategy aligned with patient demand, program growth, and the broader MGB Urology strategy.
- Strengthen collaboration between MGB's academic medical centers and community hospitals to improve care coordination and maximize clinical resources across the system.
- Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to identify opportunities for program development, strategic growth, and improved patient access.
- Advance consistent standards and best practices related to quality improvement, peer review, clinical performance, professionalism, and physician well-being.
- Support responsible stewardship of clinical, financial, and operational resources across Community Urology.
QualificationsSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:
- Board certification in Urology and a record of clinical excellence.
- Significant physician leadership, administrative, or program development experience.
- Experience within community-based urologic practice and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with delivering care across multiple sites.
- A demonstrated ability to lead physicians, develop clinical programs, and build collaborative relationships across complex organizations.
- Strong strategic, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A track record of mentoring and developing physicians and clinical leaders.
- A leadership style characterized by integrity, transparency, collaboration, accountability, and sound judgment.
- A regional and/or national reputation for excellence in clinical care and leadership.
Leadership CommitmentThe Vice Chair, Community Urology role represents approximately 0.2 FTE of protected leadership effort and will include a leadership stipend commensurate with the scope and complexity of the position.
The Vice Chair will maintain a meaningful presence across MGB Community Division locations and participate in relevant departmental and system leadership activities.

Additional Job Details (if applicable)For candidates appointed to a combined 1.0 FTE leadership and clinical role, the total compensation range is $400,000 to $500,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, and internal equity.
