Full Job Description
*Highland Hospital is seeking a Full Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Practice Provider, APP) to join its Radiation Oncology team out in Greece NY.

Some duties include but are not limited to:
Provide support to radiation oncology physicians and staff delivering patient care and coordination of treatment. Provide and coordinate the care of patients, providing patient and family education and safe continuity of care.

Coordinates Radiation Services for physicians at all Highland Wilmot Cancer Institute sites with a primary site of Bellwood/Greece. Assisting with consults, follow-up visits, on-treatment visits and other patient care and documentation activities.
  • Performs history and physical examination- Review of systems and documentation in EMR.
  • Reviews CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, PET & PSMA scans, lab work and referring physician reports.
  • Coordinates care for patients including arranging and following up on requested tests.
  • Facilitates and communicates findings of consultations by other medical specialties through written and verbal documentation reflecting recommendations.
  • Provides written orders for medications, referrals, labs and imaging as requested per patient needs.
  • Provides medical management/triage within the scope of practice for patients presenting with problems during radiation treatment course.
  • Assists nursing staff with care.
  • Provides post radiation therapy written orders as requested.
  • Coordinates referral process to colleagues in other areas of specialty.
  • Prescribe ADT therapy including Lupron, Pluvicto and Relugolix Oral Therapy
  • Coordinate Decipher Genomic Testing for patients along with education of the testing.
  • Participates in survivorship care plans
Salary Range:
$98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements

1. Education: Fulfilled the requirements to be a Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in NY State.
2. Experience: Minimum of 6 months clinical experience.
3. License/Certification Required:
For Nurse Practitioners: Current New York State Registered Nurse license, New York State certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
For Physician Assistants: Current New York State Physician Assistant license and current national certification required.
4. Skills: Must possess good communication, observation and assessment skills. Able to work as a team member and independently.
