Full Job Description
Providence Cancer Institute of Oregon is seeking a full-time nurse practitioner or physician associate to join the Oncology Palliative Care team at Providence Oncology and Hematology Care Clinic, located on the campus of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Southwest Portland. The ideal candidate is a confident, compassionate Advanced Practice Clinician who is comfortable exercising independent clinical judgment, thrives in a patient-centered environment, and values the shared knowledge and partnership of experienced colleagues.

In this specialized outpatient role, you will play an integral part in improving quality of life for patients living with cancer by providing expert symptom management for acute and chronic cancer-related conditions. Working with a high degree of autonomy and under the guidance of the Medical Director, you will help develop individualized treatment plans, facilitate communication and care coordination, and support patients and families through complex treatment journeys.

As a member of an established and supportive oncology program, you will collaborate closely with Medical Oncologists and a multidisciplinary team that includes Registered Nurses, Patient Navigators, Researchers, Social Workers, Nutritionists, Integrative Medicine specialists, Clinical Pharmacists, and other allied health professionals. This role also includes educating patients and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and symptom management strategies. At Providence, treating cancer is more than treating disease. It is about supporting patients and families through every stage of their journey.

Position Highlights:
  • Outpatient position, full-time (1.0 FTE)
  • 4,10-hour weekdays; no nights, weekends, or call
