Nurse Practitioner - NP - Pediatric Emergency Department - Rotating Shifts

Our team consists of 8 PEM attendings, 6 PEM fellows, 3 pediatric nurse practitioners, a dedicated child life and nursing staff, as well as pediatric and emergency medicine residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Our department sees approximately 18,000 patients in a 10-bedded unit, with additional evaluation chairs and a separate pediatric triage area. The nurse practitioner will work relatively independently in the busy pediatric emergency department under the supervision of an attending physician. They will be responsible for the acute care of pediatric patients and shall assess the physical and psychological status of the patient by means of history, physical exam and diagnostic tests. They will be expected to follow clinical protocols, complete appropriate documentation for all medical encounters, to be cosigned and reviewed by the attending physician, perform routine pediatric emergency medicine procedures, including but not limited to suturing, splinting, phlebotomy, and urethral catheterizations, and write prescriptions in accordance with Federal and New York State Law.

Preferred Criteria
  • At least 6 months to one year of NP experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Critical Care or Pediatric Urgent Care setting is preferred.

Salary Range:

$169,694-$187,854/Annual
