Your Mission
As a Nurse Practitioner in our Fairbanks, Alaska primary care and family practice clinic, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals aged 5 and up. This position supports both scheduled appointments and walk-in visits, addressing a wide range of needs from chronic disease management and acute injuries to preventive health and wellness. You'll provide primary care services, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatments, and carry out in-office procedures within your scope of practice. With access to services such as X-ray, onsite medication dispensary, women's care, sports physicals, and immunizations, you'll collaborate closely with physicians and other providers to ensure continuity of care. This role is ideal for a proactive clinician who values education, clear communication, and empowering patients to take an active role in their health.

- Provide Exceptional Care: Deliver primary medical services, including preventive exams, evaluation and treatment of injuries and illnesses, and referrals to specialists or facilities.
- Use Advanced Diagnostics: Order, perform, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests to guide accurate treatment decisions.
- Prescribe and Treat: Recommend medications, therapies, and specialized care tailored to patient needs.
- Perform In-Office Procedures: Carry out medical procedures within your scope of practice.
- Create Personalized Care Plans: Develop treatment and preventive strategies that are age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and achievable.
- Manage Ongoing Health: Monitor patient progress, adjust care plans as needed, and ensure continuity of care.
- Communicate with Clarity: Explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care so patients and families feel informed and supported.
- Empower Patients: Educate and encourage patients to take an active role in their health, providing resources and guidance.
- Document with Precision: Maintain accurate records in the Athena EMR system to ensure quality care and compliance.
- Lead and Delegate: Assign patient care activities to appropriate personnel for efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with Your Team: Work closely with physicians, PAs, and NPs to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Stay Certified: Obtain DOT certification within 3 months of hire to expand your scope of practice.
The Talent We're Looking For
- Active Alaska License for NP
- Active BLS, ACLS and DEA
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant family practice and urgent care experience
