Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Graduated from an approved Nurse Practitioner program in New York State
• Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by a recognized body (ANCC/AANP)
• Minimum 1 year of gastroenterology experience
• Current, unrestricted New York State license
• Active DEA registration or eligible for registration
• Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligible to enroll
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patients with gastroenterology concerns and document findings.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests relevant to gastroenterology.
• Make differential diagnoses by systematically comparing clinical findings to normal and abnormal variations.
• Utilize evidence-based practices for complex patient care.
• Evaluate diagnoses and treatment effectiveness to ensure expected outcomes are met.
• Prescribe treatments and medications following state and federal regulations.
• Consider the overall health needs of patients for integrated care delivery.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuity in patient care.
• Participate in educational programs and staff meetings as required.
