Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited body (ANCC or AANP).
• Current, unrestricted New York State license is mandatory.
• Minimum of 1 year of gastroenterology experience required.
• Active DEA registration or eligibility for registration is necessary.
• Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligibility to enroll required.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Gastroenterology assessments and document findings.
• Initiate, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests for patients.
• Compare clinical diagnostic findings to identify differential diagnoses.
• Utilize evidence-based practices for complex patient care.
• Evaluate diagnostic effectiveness to achieve expected outcomes.
• Prescribe treatments and medications following state and federal law.
• Consider comprehensive health needs to deliver integrated patient care.
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff for continuity of patient care.
• Participate in staff education programs and meetings.
