Description:As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: At 3 least years of recent nursing experience across a combination of practice areas, which may include: acute/sub acute care, rehabilitative care, community health, emergency, ICU, continuing care, home care, or related settings. Strong communication and assessment skills. Evidence of expertise aligned with the Nurse Practitioner graduate stream, such as Family/All Ages or Adult. At the time of interview, candidates may be required to complete a hands-on computer assessment to demonstrate proficiency. This includes showing sufficient typing speed to meet workload demands and the ability to confidently navigate various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook, and internet-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include CNA Certification in a national nursing specialty (e.g., Gerontological Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing). Connect Care experience is an asset, as is previous experience in Palliative Care.
