Full Job Description
Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN), you will help critically ill and premature newborns receive specialized, compassionate care so they can achieve the best possible health outcomes and have the strongest start in life. Our Level III NICU features 40 beds, including 16 private rooms, eight three-bed pods, and 4 private isolation rooms designed to permit 24-hour parental stays, fostering an environment where families can be present and involved in their child's care.

Every day you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on the needs of perinatal patients and their families. You will be expected to utilize your clinical and technical skills, document accurately, collaborate with the healthcare team, and provide leadership in patient care while maintaining a safe environment and upholding patient safety standards. Our specialized services include 24/7 in-house neonatology coverage, invasive monitoring, whole-body cooling (which can be initiated during ground transport), and comprehensive ventilation modalities such as high-frequency oscillator ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide. We also leverage telemedicine capabilities for participating hospitals and have a dedicated team of RNs and RTs for the ground transport of critically ill neonates in our specialized neonatal ambulance.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, a commitment to family-centered care, emotional resilience, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations while advocating for the needs of vulnerable patients and their families.

  • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.
