Full Job Description
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational management of the assigned Nursing Unit in collaboration with physician leadership. The Nurse Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership for the Obstetrics Unit 4W. Participates in the strategic planning for the department. The Nurse Manager manages the activities of the Obstetrics 4W Unit and ensures all operations complies with clinical guidelines. Has accountability for nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive leadership experience
  • Current New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Completion of de-escalation training within 90 days of employment and every two years thereafter.
  • Knowledge of guidelines of the regulatory bodies - The Joint Commission, Department of Health and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Assessment skills
  • Ability to make safe judgement calls.
  • Strong communication skills for in-servicing the staff
  • Excellent customer service skills, responsible for meeting deadline, punctual.
  • Effective written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Keeps commitments and when unable gives notice.
