Lakeview Hospital has a wonderful opportunity to work with our Nursing Leadership team. The Med/Surg Nursing Manager is responsible for management and leadership of the assigned department(s) with 24-hour accountability. This includes the provision of patient centered care that continually strives to achieve identified goals. The Nurse Manager participates in developing strategic and operational plans for the department and directs all aspects of patient care and services to assure that the organization mission, vision, values, strategic plan and policies and procedures are consistently met. This also includes establishing, maintaining, and evaluating standards of care and assuming responsibility for staff development, environmental, human resources, and fiscal management.

Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE. Primarily Days.

Required Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

• Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota State Border Registry. 

• Three years of acute care RN experience with a minimum of two (2) years in a nursing leadership position, e.g. Assistant Nurse Manager, Administrative Nursing Supervisor, or Charge Nurse role.

• Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)

• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and prioritize appropriately 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and other disciplines, patients, family members, physicians, general public, and external agencies.

• Knowledgeable of the principles of retention and recruitment.

• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing 

• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams 

   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Nursing

• 3+ years of progressive healthcare management experience

• Specialty Certification in Nursing Leadership (CNML, NE-BC, etc)
