Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding leadership opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join the Emergency Department, as the Nurse Manager.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Emergency Department.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
  • Lead daily unit operations, staffing, and resource management.
  • Support staff development, professional nursing practice, and team engagement.
  • Lead and promote quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and medical center leadership.
  • Represent the Emergency Department in medical center decision-making and leadership activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and initiatives that improve patient care.
  • Help advance organizational goals, clinical outcomes, and patient experience.
  • Play a key leadership role in maintaining a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.


RESPONSIBILITIES Include but not limited to
  • Provide leadership to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
  • Plan, develop, and implement programs and processes that meet patient care needs.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Emergency Department nursing staff.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, and performance management of unit staff.
  • Promote professional nursing practice, staff engagement, education, and development.
  • Plan and manage unit resources and participate in budget development and management.
  • Monitor operational and clinical performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and support continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and the patient experience.
  • Represent Emergency Department staff within the Division of Nursing and throughout the medical center.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, inclusion, and excellence in nursing practice.

REQUIRED
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain one.
  • Two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in an Emergency Department.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex emergency department environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and professional nursing practice.
  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration


Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:
$150,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$205,008.00 annual
