Job DescriptionHarborview Medical Center has an outstanding leadership opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join the Emergency Department, as the Nurse Manager.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS- Provide leadership and oversight for the Emergency Department.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
- Lead daily unit operations, staffing, and resource management.
- Support staff development, professional nursing practice, and team engagement.
- Lead and promote quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and medical center leadership.
- Represent the Emergency Department in medical center decision-making and leadership activities.
- Support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and initiatives that improve patient care.
- Help advance organizational goals, clinical outcomes, and patient experience.
- Play a key leadership role in maintaining a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES Include but not limited to
- Provide leadership to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
- Plan, develop, and implement programs and processes that meet patient care needs.
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Emergency Department nursing staff.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, and performance management of unit staff.
- Promote professional nursing practice, staff engagement, education, and development.
- Plan and manage unit resources and participate in budget development and management.
- Monitor operational and clinical performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and support continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and the patient experience.
- Represent Emergency Department staff within the Division of Nursing and throughout the medical center.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs, and strategic initiatives.
- Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, inclusion, and excellence in nursing practice.
SCHEDULEREQUIRED- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain one.
- Two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in an Emergency Department.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex emergency department environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and professional nursing practice.
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
Compensation, Benefits and Position DetailsPay Range Minimum:$150,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:$205,008.00 annual
