Job DescriptionServes as an informatics resource for clinical system users, specifically nursing. Responds to user identified issues, solicits feedback from users and routinely rounds on units to provide a visible informatics presence. Provides house wide support during go lives.
Fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure that technology solutions support evidence based practice and meet the needs of clinical users. Serves as a nursing informatics representative on appropriate committees and workgroups.
Serves as a liaison between nursing/clinical team members and ISS. Helps prioritize request for changes and reports. Assists with integrated testing of new applications/upgrades and provides appropriate feedback on findings.
Provides clinical computer training for new nurses. Assists with developing training modules for new initiatives and upgrades. Provides classes, in services, huddle information, and one on one assistance as needed. Provides chart correction assistance in conjunction with HIM.
Obtains and analyzes data to measure program compliance, progress, utilization and opportunities for improvement.
Supports downtime preparedness. Conducts downtime drills and BCA box audits. Supports during downtime as needed.
Supports the dissemination informatics best practices and knowledge by participating in research, mentoring students and precepting MSN Informatics students.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:1. BSN
2. 3-5 years nursing experience
Preferred:1. Masters Degree in Informatics
2. 1-3 years experience in Nursing Informatics or related field.
3. ANCC Certification as an Informatics RN
