Job Summary
Accountable for the overall administrative responsibilities for development, implementation, growth and leadership of the Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Bed and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team, and Prison Medical for the Erlanger Health System

Hardwires accountability and expectations throughout the department with each associate within Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Bed and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical

Assess, develop and pursue opportunities consistent with the strategic plan, business plan and marketing plan for the Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Bed and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical

Initiates contract negotiations and executes contract administration and renewals as appropriate to include but not limited to on-call physician contracts and other medical staff contracts

Plans, organizes, develops and oversees Erlanger Health System service line needs in collaboration with the Wound Care/HBO Physician Leader and Medical Director and Prison Medical Medical Director

Functions in a strategic, facilitative and proactive manner to enhance the growth and expansion of the Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Bed and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical

Prepares and assists with all regulatory reviews, ensuring compliance and adherence to hospital policies; prepares budget and strictly maintains compliance with limited variances

Responsible for the development, implementation, growth and management of the Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Beds and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical for Erlanger Health System. This shall be accomplished by integrated involvement, includes direct and indirect reports within the different departments

Active collaboration with the physicians involved is critical to the success of the Wound Care/HBO program. Physician support necessary for success in this role will include understanding and working through the unique challenges presented and creatively developing action plans to facilitate implementation of improvement necessary for the Wound Care/HBO/Enterostomal success

Provides clear communication and motivating vision for the Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Bed and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical by monthly routine staff meetings to include all shifts all working days

Responsible for monitoring relationship of the Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty bed and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical Customer Base as listed: Patients, Physicians, Hospitals and Referring Entities, Healthcare Workers, Employees, and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Medicine

Provides timely routine updates to the CNO and/or Executive Management on activities of service line; apt to present to the Board of Trustees and other governing bodies strategic updates or requests

Directly responsible for the following areas: Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including Specialty Beds and Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical.

Education:
Required:
Academic training in Wound Care/HBO or business discipline with a BSN/BA is required. Training in both areas is desirable. Professional licensure is required. WOCN, Hyperbaric trained and HBO Safety Officer trained.

Preferred:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Master of Science Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Experience:
Required:
A minimum of ten years of progressive management/leadership experience at least five of which must be in an expansive healthcare setting. A background in physician relationships and success in business planning and implementation is desirable.A background in Emergency and Critical Care Management.

Skills and abilities: Facilitative customer/patient focused leadership skills, analyst, diplomat, strategic planning and business development skills, contracting skills. Ability to facilitate change as well as display competence in continuous improvement, accountability, communication, teamwork, motivating, problem solving, decision making and financial understanding.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee
WOCN. Hyperbaric Trained. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Preferred: ACLS, PALS, Instructor level in BLS and ACLS; Wound Care Certification, Hyperbaric Certification and Hyperbaric Safety Officer Certification

Department Position Summary:
Additional areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: preparing business strategies/plans and programs, evaluation of Wound Care/HBO program including the Hand Clinic and Plastic Clinic, Enterostomal Department including the Turn Team, IV Therapy Department including the PICC Team and Prison Medical line product line performance and recommendations for changes to programs based on the data. Must be able to operationalize strategies and plans and have the ability to partner with department managers to coordinate and standardize care for the Wound Care/HBO service linepopulation. This role will require a strong regional presence and travel into the region as needed for both maintenance and growth of market share. The role requires strong operational and financial knowledge relevant to healthcare. Skills are needed in compliance, planning organizing and managing multiple project/tasks simultaneously. Additionally, highly developed interpersonal skills are needed to work with a variety of people including employees, physicians, board members, local, state, and federal officials, hospital administrators, etc. Independent judgment, decision-making, and a high degree of creativity and flexibility are needed.
